What should make you suspicious?

The amount itself is not the key warning sign.
B. The refund is unexpected and the message pushes a link/PIN action
Correct. Unexpected money, a link and a request involving a UPI PIN are strong reasons to stop and independently verify the claim.
C. The message arrived on a phone
A phone message by itself is not proof of fraud.
🔐 Safety cue: Do not use a UPI PIN merely because someone says it is needed to receive money. Verify the transaction independently through the official app or institution.
What Aman does
He closes the message, opens the payment app independently and checks his transactions rather than following the supplied link. If a claim appears to come from an organisation, he uses its official contact channel to verify it.
